Run saved automations locally and offline. The desktop runner and private sync are available to free users; Pro increases cloud limits but is not required.

The public Windows installer is not published yet. Installation and first-run testing are still in progress.

Requirements

  • - Windows 10 or Windows 11, x64

Install

  • - Download iBot_0.3.0_x64-setup.exe after it is published

Known limitations

  • - Windows is the only packaged platform in this release
  • - Microsoft Word is required for Word-to-PDF tasks
  • - The build is not yet code-signed for public distribution unless noted on the final release
  • - Live Shared Library details remain an online feature

Troubleshooting

  • - Sign in again if the desktop sync token expires or is revoked
  • - If the bundled runtime is damaged or missing, reinstall iBot and retry; your saved app data is retained
  • - Offline runs work after setup, provided the automation itself does not need internet
  • - Review Run logs for the failed step before retrying; a retry starts from the beginning

Your first successful run

  1. Run the iBot Windows installer, then open iBot from the Start Menu. The installer includes the automation runtime.
  2. Choose Add local starter under Practice Pause and Stop. Review its files, acknowledge its access, and choose Run. This starter needs no account or internet connection.
  3. Watch Run logs count down. Try Pause and Resume, then Stop. The buttons show the current keyboard shortcuts; defaults are F7 for Pause/Resume and F8 for Stop. Keep the on-screen Stop button available if another app captures a shortcut.
  4. Try Preview Downloads or the sample CSV. These examples read data and print results; they do not change your personal files. Use copies of important documents when testing your own automations.

Automations run as programs with your user permissions. iBot does not sandbox them. Stop does not undo changes already made; after a failure, check the result before running again.

Start with a small, predictable automation

No AI generation or account needed. Start with the countdown to check your setup and practice the controls. Open these bundles in iBot Desktop to run them.

Practice Pause and Stop

A 10-second countdown. No clicks, file changes, or network access.

Watch the countdown in Run logs. Try Pause, Resume, and Stop before it finishes.

Preview Downloads by file type

Count file types in your home Downloads folder, checking at most 200 entries. Nothing is moved or renamed.

Run logs show file counts by extension. Subfolders, links, and file contents are not read.

Summarize a sample CSV

Read the included sample expenses and add totals by category. Your own documents stay untouched.

Run logs show Food: 20.00, Travel: 12.00, and Total: 32.00. The sample is bundled with the automation.

Move an automation from the web to Desktop

For a saved cloud automation, sign in to the same account in iBot Desktop and choose Sync in My Automations. Select the automation, review its files, and choose Run. For a downloaded .ibot.json file, choose Import bundle in Desktop and select that file. Importing and syncing do not start a run.

For support, paste %APPDATA%\com.ibot.desktop\logs\ibot-desktop.log into File Explorer. Share only the relevant error and remove private paths, prompts, or code first.
